The Females of Fiction Awards recognizes outstanding female authors and illustrators of children’s books and strives to empower and support women who are building their literary portfolio and creating stories containing powerful messages of inspiration.
Each year, judges on the Hindi’s Libraries Literary Panel select winners for author and illustrator in each of our book categories:

chapter/middle grades

young adult
Winners receive:

$50 Barnes & Noble gift card

Award seals to place on books as well as digital award seals to place on any e-books.

Promotion on our socials and emails to our supporters

Media opportunities (subject to availability)
Judges include educators, children's authors, young readers and our Hindi's Libraries co-founders.
Books may be published any year; prior recipients of any Females of Fiction Award are not eligible for additional award, regardless of category previously awarded.
How To Enter:
1. Apply using the form below and make the appropriate payments. The entry fee is $25 for one category (author or illustrator) only, and $40 for both categories.
2. Attach a PDF version (low-res) of the entry so that it may be available for judges to review. All digital files will remain confidential.
3. Mail a physical copy of the book to us at:

We must receive a physical copy to ensure eligibility. All physical books collected from submissions are donated to our recipients after being reviewed.
The deadline to enter the 2026 Awards is November 30, 2026; physical copies may be received up to December 31, 2026. Winners will be announced on or around January 1, 2027.
