Authors 4 Adoption
In honor of National Adoption Month, we're giving the gift of literacy
to families touched by the adoption process.
There are more than 7 million individuals in the United States who have been adopted.
Of those, 1.5 million are children.
November has been recognized as National Adoption Month in the U.S. since 1995. This year, Hindi’s Libraries, a New York based international literary nonprofit, has partnered with award-winning children’s author, Tom Tracy Jr., in support of National Adoption Month. Together, they are coordinating a book donation effort with global reach throughout November. These efforts will benefit children and families with a focus on those touched by adoption.
The book drive initiative will launch on November 1 through an Amazon Charity Wishlist and run for the entire month. All books collected will be donated to All About Love Adoptions A Family Building Agency &Junior League of Rockford, two organizations that are committed to strengthening families and ensuring a better future for children. Throughout the month, Hindi’s Libraries will be sharing crucial adoption statistics and highlighting relevant children’s books, in an effort to support children’s authors worldwide who will be be participating in the donation efforts
In addition to the books collected from online efforts, Tom will personally donate his books to the cause, Hindi's Libraries will donate an additional 500 children’s books to the organizations selected and Hindi’s Libraries co-founder Leslie Gang, an award winning children’s author will donate copies of her book.

Tom Tracy is an award-winning children’s author. Shortly after adopting their first daughter, Tom and his husband discovered a dearth of children’s stories that featured same-sex parents of transracially adopted children. Despite countless books on the shelves of their home, their daughter saw very few families that looked like hers on the pages between the covers. Tom started writing to help fill a representation gap in children’s literature. Tom and his family have been featured on CBSPhilly news (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECCdc6M54GM ), SJMag (https://sjmagazine.net/family-kids/adoption-story ) and Gay Parent Magazine (https://hubs.la/Q01gbGh_0 ). Every family has their own unique story to tell and Tom hopes that by telling his, it inspires others to tell theirs.
